“Maniac” is a 1983 hit song by Michael Sembello, best known from the Flashdance film soundtrack. It peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and features an upbeat, synth-pop sound. The lyrics describe a dancer with immense passion, often recognized by the chorus: “She’s a maniac, maniac on the floor / And she’s dancing like she’s never danced before”.
